Mark H. Anderson retired from the United States Postal Service (USPS) in January 2015, after working 36 years with this organization. His last assignment was the District Manager, South Jersey District. The South Jersey District, located in New Jersey consisted of the southern part of New Jersey and the entire state of Delaware. As District Manager, Mr. Anderson was responsible for the processing, delivery/collections and retail operations of mail services for a population of over 2.5 million people. The workforce size of the South Jersey District was approximately 9500 employees.
Before becoming a District Manager, Mr. Anderson served as the 40th Postmaster of Los Angeles, California. He held this position for approximately 5 years. Before working in Los Angeles, Mr. Anderson served as the 42nd Postmaster of St. Louis, Missouri. He held this position for 6 years. His career took him to Chicago, IL and Detroit MI. Mr. Anderson started his career in 1978 as a letter carrier in San Diego, CA.
Mark H. Anderson has been a member of the Concerned Black Men of Los Angeles(CBMLA) since 2010. He started as the Senior Vice President. He was named President of CBMLA in 2015.
Mr. Anderson is married and lives in Los Angeles, CA. He has one daughter. His family is very active in their local church. In addition, he enjoys golfing, fishing and listening to jazz music.
